Where do you see a class wherein the students come early, and seemingly don't want to leave, even when class is "dismissed?" Where do you see a class wherein a student who is late is committed to catch up and does so even if there's only 8 minutes left? Where do you see a class wherein discussions continue even after the alloted class period?
This is what's happening in OCCI's first online course, "The Call of Authenticity: Loving Embrace of Self and Others, The Practice and Dynamics of Radical Authenticity." After the initial face-to-face weekend last August 1&2, 2009, the succeeding 7 sessions are online through chat rooms and use of the discussion forum. 16 students have been divided into 4 groups with each choosing a common time on a given date/week. Chats have been enlightening, stimulating, with "AHA" moments every now and then, and even "moments" happening complete with tears, and of course fun and funny!
This batch (RA3) with its virtual class is still ongoing with 3 weeks left to go. Join us next time! Next batch is scheduled on October 10-11, 2009. All ALC grads are qualified to enroll.
